Booking an Appointment

Advance Bookings and Cancellations

Please make appointments in advance. However, because health problems can arise quickly we understand the importance of easy access to our office.

If you have an emergency and need to see the doctor urgently, please let the receptionist know this. If you need time with the doctor to talk about a personal problem or a recheck for an existing problem, please let the receptionist know so that we can schedule the right amount of time. Do not forget to mention if you are bringing another family member to see the doctor at the same time. Because of hospital commitments your doctor may not always be available in the Clinic. In such a situation or if you need an urgent appointment, you will be offered an appointment with another Clinic doctor.

Please be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment. Due to the shortage of doctors in Fort St John the  number of patients presenting to the Walk In Cinic has increased significantly and some booked patients have missed their appointment time while waiting in the line at reception.

Be sure to call if you have to cancel an appointment. We would appreciate at least 24 hours notice. You may be charged if you fail to do so.

Advanced Access Comes to Fort St. John

Want to see your Doctor on the same day you call to request an appointment? That is what Advanced Access means. Dr Mackey has introduced Advanced Access into his practice. He is endeavouring to make appointments available each day (that he is in the office) so that his patients can be seen that same day. If it is a day that he is committed to be somewhere other than the clinic then our staff  may ask you to call back on the next day that your Doctor is in the office. This does mean, therefore, that they ask you to call for an appointment and not present to the Same Day Access Clinic unless an appointment with them is not available. As simple as this may sound it does actually take some getting used to so we ask that you help us make this work.
